Bamboo Clothing

Why Choose Bamboo?

Clothing made of bamboo is extremely soft, durable and luxuriously comfortable. As a textile, bamboo clothing is renowned for it’s many unique features and impressive environmental benefits.

Breathable and thermo-regulating: Feels great to wear in every season. Keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter.

Moisture Wicking: High moisture absorption and evaporation keeps you dry and comfortable when you are active or when the weather gets hot and humid.

Kind to sensitive skin: Because of the smooth and round structure of its fibers, bamboo clothing is soft and non-irritating, even to sensitive skin.

Easy Care: Crease resistant, colour fast and low shrinkage. Gentle warm wash and cool iron if needed will ensure long term colour clarity and perfect fit.

Sustainable: Bamboo is naturally prolific and resilient. It grows to maturity in 3-4 years and once harvested, can replenish itself within a year. It does not require intensive irrigation and thrives without need of pesticides or fertilisers.

Eco Restorative: Growing Bamboo improves soil quality and helps rebuild eroded soil. It’s extensive root system prevents erosion, and retains water in the watershed.

100% biodegradable: Ultimately bamboo clothing will simply return to the earth with minimal environmental Impact.

Taking Care of Your Bamboo Clothing

Washing: To maintain the best quality of the garment The Great Beyond recommend washing on a gentle wash cycle or hand wash with warm or cold water with a gentle detergent free from bleach.

Drying: We recommend line-drying in not too harsh sunlight.

Ironing: A gentle warm iron is perfect for your garment or either let your body heat work it’s magic, as the creases should fall out after a short time.

What is recycled PET?

Recycled PET or Polyester is made from plastic water bottles and spun into fabric instead of going into landfill. The process of creating this fabric is as follows

  1. The collected PET bottles are sterilized, dried and crushed into small chips.
  2. The chips are heated and passed through a spinneret to form strings of yarn.
  3. This yard is wound up in spools.
  4. The fibre is then passed through a crimping machine to create a fluffy wooly texture.
  5. This yarn is then baled, dyed and knitted into polyester fabric.

 Who created your clothes?

Classics & Orbit Collection Team

coco

Dongguan Ocoo Apparel & Fashion in China, they were a small team who manufactured women’s wear, headed by Irene and Ms. Coco Guo. They were a team of 50 and their motto was “quality is life, style is soul” who valued happiness between all their employees and who practiced safe and ethical trading. Unfortunately they closed their doors in early 2016 due to the economic crisis in China. They shared our passion for environmentally friendly clothing and produced our material using the closed loop system, which ensures that the chemicals used in producing bamboo viscose and our organic bamboo fabric did not harm their waterways. This team created our Classics and Orbit Collection.
